Kim Rodgers is a Los Angeles based pet photographer and graphic designer. She donates her photography skills to local animal rescue organizations and roams the dog parks of L.A. looking for hipsters that are in love with their dog(s). She realizes your friends will most definitely make fun of you when they hear you’re taking Fido for his close-up, and uses this as her motivation to create artistic images that your aforementioned friends will secretly be jealous of.

One of my greatest passions in life is dogs. I love everything about them. Another passion of mine is photography. I’ve been taking pictures both as a hobby and professionally for over 2 years. I started out in shooting local events and practicing at home. Our pets are all so unique and my goal is to photograph them in a way that allows their personalities to shine. Whether it’s a sparkle in their eyes or a big toothy grin, I’ll capture it in a series of high-quality contemporary photographs.

I am an eco-friendly, beach bumming, animal loving pet photographer. I try to live each day with as much positiveity as possible. I think the reason I am like this is because I always surround myself with animals, specifically dogs. Gilda Radnor summed it up perfectly when she said,

About:
Sometimes life throws you a curve ball that has a really big life changing miracle attached. My curve ball was breast cancer and my miracle was the inspiration to pick up a camera and photograph my sweet kitty angels that were my healing energy through that trying time in my life. I finally had found what i was supposed to be doing. My life has never been the same. Now I get to spend my days with animals that feed my soul like nothing else. Being able to work with them everyday and bring that joy to other pet parents in the form of photography is truely a gift given to me by a higher power. Now, I live my life in a complete state of joy and health!

I like to call my sessions high fashion doggie/kitty photoshoots as I like to bring out their inner doggie/kitty supermodel. I shoot mostly with a white or black background in the studio and can also so the session in a natural settings at your home or selected location. My style is very clean and modern in nature to really focus the image on the pet. …and, I do shoot humans as well.

My mission is to spread the joy that can only be shared through our furry 4-legged angels through my modern stylish photography. In addition to the photography, I also do great digital pop art pieces from the images I shoot. Clients can order images on fine art photo paper, canvas, custom note cards, calendar plus many more specialty photography items of their furry babies to honor them for a lifetime. I also have a product line of greeting cards, specialty products and fine art prints called the Jack & Spade Collection by Renee Spade so can always add plenty of pet art to your world.

I am priviledged and blessed to do what I do. Every pet is an angel and brings a joy and love to the human experience that is like nothing else.

My kitties, Jack & Spade are in Kitty Heaven now but i have 3 more angels with me now, Charlie, Shorty and Spunky! They inspire me everyday and also have extensive supermodel portfolios!

I am a professional photographer who loves taking photos of dogs, horses and occasionally people (if they are nice to me). I get the most enjoyment out of life by being with animals, especially dogs and horses; capturing their true moments in a natural environment, having silly fun, getting dirty and wearing out the knees in my jeans.

I am a passionate and vocal supporter of animal welfare. I donate a portion of all my photography proceeds to animal non-profit organizations such as Humane Societies, Fixed Fur Life and various regional and breed-specific rescue organizations.

I am a past member of the Canadian Association of Professional Pet Dog Trainers, the Pet Industry Joint Advisory Council of Canada and a current member of the Bernese Mountain Dog Club of Ontario. I have participated in many pet related seminars with well known industry experts such as Turid Rugaas, Anne-Lill Kvam, Pat Miller, Chris Zink and Chris Bach.

In my previous life I worked in the corporate world with tall sky high buildings, masses of people who all wore the same color and never spoke to one another…so glad I’m not there anymore.
