Kim Rodgers is a Los Angeles based pet photographer and graphic designer. She donates her photography skills to local animal rescue organizations and roams the dog parks of L.A. looking for hipsters that are in love with their dog(s). She realizes your friends will most definitely make fun of you when they hear you’re taking Fido for his close-up, and uses this as her motivation to create artistic images that your aforementioned friends will secretly be jealous of.

cookies and water photography

I am a Los Angeles based Photographer and a gigantic dog lover. I can honestly say that I get along with dogs (and children) more so than with grown ups. (I mean, they are infinitely more fun!)

Dogs have a free and loving spirit, and photography gives me a chance to capture that. You can never really re-live a puppy kiss but you can come close in memory, and that’s what I do. I photograph your furry friend on their terms, which is a very organic experience. At the end of each shoot we all come out having a very fun few hours and with a metaphoric “roll” of puppy kisses that you can keep and cherish forever.

About: I grew up in Ohio and received a degree in both art and photography. I moved to Los Angeles where I worked as a set decorator. I realized my true passion was to help animals, especially those in animal shelters. I started a line of images called Pound Pets to bring awareness to these special animals. Mark Rogers is a San Francisco-based pet photographer with a contemporary, candid style focusing on each pet’s individuality and uniqueness–with a few dashes of humor and action thrown in for good measure. Most of his work is location based at dog parks, beaches and places where dogs are at their happiest. Mark is heavily involved with local animal welfare groups and donates much of his time to causes such as Give a Dog Bone, a quality of life program for long-term shelter dogs and VetSOS, an outreach service for pets belonging to San Francisco’s homeless.
