Diane Schuller Photography ~ on-location lifestyle photography for pets, livestock and their people

It won’t take long to see how much enjoyment Diane gets by photographing animals! She has lived with animals all her life and they include dogs, cats, horses, and farmyard chickens and geese too! She no longer has farmyard animals but she and her husband share their rural home with three active dogs, each with an entertaining character.

Similar to children, animals photographed in their own environment are unihibited in how they are willing to express themselves. Diane loves to capture them whether at their fun-loving best, doing what they were bred to do, or settling down for a quiet moment. She wants you to look at the moments she captures and say, “Yes! that’s exactly what s/he does!” Diane’s not afraid to get wet, beat the heat and dust of summer, or get down in the snow. Just as with working with children or families, she does what it takes to ensure the animal is at ease and that she captures the essence of its personality.

A proud member of the Dog Writers’ Association of America, Diane is pleased to keep company with other writers and photographers. Diane is dedicated to giving back as well, offering her photography services to help animal rescue or well-being organizations to raise awareness or funds for their endeavours.

Paws on the Run Photography / Photographing pets doing what they do best – having fun.

About: I started dog walking and pet sitting in 2006, and discovered what inspired my inner photographer – people’s pets. I started carrying my camera with me on my walks and visits so I could photograph the adventures of other people’s pets. It was a hobby that my clients seemed to appreciate. When I opened up a doggie daycare in 2007, I continued taking pictures of other people’s pets. I was hooked so in 2009 I decided to expand my business to officially include pet photography.
I take pictures of dogs and cats in their own environment with only natural lighting. I take candid photos that capture their personality, their spirit and their love of life.

I am a professional photographer who loves taking photos of dogs, horses and occasionally people (if they are nice to me). I get the most enjoyment out of life by being with animals, especially dogs and horses; capturing their true moments in a natural environment, having silly fun, getting dirty and wearing out the knees in my jeans.

I am a passionate and vocal supporter of animal welfare. I donate a portion of all my photography proceeds to animal non-profit organizations such as Humane Societies, Fixed Fur Life and various regional and breed-specific rescue organizations.

I am a past member of the Canadian Association of Professional Pet Dog Trainers, the Pet Industry Joint Advisory Council of Canada and a current member of the Bernese Mountain Dog Club of Ontario. I have participated in many pet related seminars with well known industry experts such as Turid Rugaas, Anne-Lill Kvam, Pat Miller, Chris Zink and Chris Bach.

In my previous life I worked in the corporate world with tall sky high buildings, masses of people who all wore the same color and never spoke to one another…so glad I’m not there anymore.
